Five Reasons You Should Stick To Eco-Friendly Products
In today’s fast-paced world, sometimes we forget to reduce, reuse and recycle. We’re busy with work and school. We have children to take care of. We’re glued to our phones. Time is limited, and it’s not often spent thinking of new ways to go green.
The next time you have a few minutes of downtime, make that change and think about the environment! It’s probably already something that concerns you. Your cupboards may even be filled with some eco-friendly products, but do you know why they’re so important?
Here are five reasons you should stick to eco-friendly products:
-
The environment:
This one is kind of a no-brainer. We need water and air to survive. When we forgo the eco-friendly option to get the cheaper big-name cleaner, we may be saving a few cents but we’re not helping to save our planet. The Earth is sick and we have to do everything we can to make it better.
-
Kids and the important people in your life:
With kids around, you’ll spend most of your time cleaning up after them. If you use eco-friendly products to get rid of their mess, you are not only protecting the environment, you’re protecting your family. Products that aren’t environmentally-safe can cause headaches and stomachaches for your little ones. The harsh chemicals in those products may be okay for our older well-developed lungs but for our kids they’re very dangerous.
-
Pets and other animals:
If you have pets in your home, you may notice that they spend most of their time on the floor. Instead of using regular products on your floor, try the eco-friendly version and keep your pets healthy.
Strong chemicals can harm your pet’s immune system and cause disease, and when you use sprays or aerosol products they go straight into the atmosphere where they’re then breathed in by non-domesticated animals and severely harming them.
-
Energy consumption:
Every product you use had to be made somewhere, usually a large factory with an assembly line. Products don’t just appear out of nowhere and land in your home, ready for you to use. It takes time and energy to mass-produce a line of non-green products, whereas the eco-friendly option requires less energy and are sustainable. That large factory produces more than products; it produces waste that has to go somewhere. That somewhere is a landfill, and we’re running out of space for those.
-
Reduce your carbon footprint:
It’s okay to be selfish in this instance. Reducing your carbon footprint is one of the best things you can do to live a greener life! When you use eco-friendly products you are making a statement that let’s people know that you care. Plus, reducing your carbon footprint gives you bragging rights.
